How can I reach Buffaure?

The simplest way is certainly by cable car from Pozza di Fassa. You can also go on foot, but you have to take into account 700 meters of elevation gain that are quite demanding. It is advisable to go up to high altitude by lifts and then choose one of our wonderful scenic excursions. HERE. you can find them all.

Is it possible to reach Alba di Canazei by lifts?

Yes, it is. You can go up by cable car and then by chairlift to Col de Valvacin. From there follow the ridges up to Sella Brunech and go down to Alba by the Ciampac cable car. To return to Pozza you can take the public bus.

Is there a ticket to travel freely on all lifts of the Fassa valley?

Yes, there is. It’s the so-called PanoramaPass that entitles you to use all the 33 lifts that are open in the summer. There are three types of tickets: 3 days out of 6, 6 days out of 6, 7 days out of 13. HERE you can find all information

Can I buy tickets online?

Yes, you can and if you buy them HERE, you will get a small discount.

Do children have to pay?

No, they don’t. Children born after 21/05/2015 will be granted a free ticket of the same duration and type as that of the accompanying paying adult.

Do I have to pay a parking fee? 

No, you don’t. Parking is free, both in the proximity to the departure point of the cable car and along the road towards Val San Nicolò. From here you can turn directly into the return ski slope and at the same time at the end of the day you can get to the car with your skis on.

What is there to do with children at high altitude?

In addition to admiring the beautiful landscapes and following the different paths, in the Buffaure plain there are games and always new surprises coming. HERE you can find more information.

What activities are there in Buffaure?

In July and August there are several proposals that are repeated every week: from trekking with alpacas to the cheese making workshop, then the possibility to live a wonderful experience as little shepperd! HERE you can find all information

Is there the possibility of eating at high altitude?

Between the Buffaure basin (reachable by cable car) and Col de Valvacin ( that can be reached if you take the chairlift too) there are four mountain huts, each one with its own culinary specialties.

When are high and low season?

In Buffaure there aren’t periods of high or low season in Summer. The summer season officially begins on 17 June 2023 and ends on 24 September 2023. Only the Pozza -Buffaure cable car will also be open on the first weekend of October.

Can I bring a bike on the Buffaure lifts?

No, you can’t because there aren’t dedicated bike trails, but there is an interesting activity called HIKE&BIKE that allows you to move at altitude by cable car, on foot and then by bike. QUI you can find all information.

Can I board the cable car with animals?

Yes, they are welcome and travel for free.

Can I take the stroller on the cable car?

We recommend child carrier backpacks both for excursions and to get to the refuges.

Do the mountain huts offer the overnight stay service at high altitude?

Yes, two of them do: Baita Cuz e Rifugio Buffaure. The former is known for its panoramic sauna, the second for a more familiar accomodation. Both allow you to wake up in the morning in this enchanted place and enjoy the beauty of the untouched slopes before the opening of the ski lifts.
